Through such international education and research initiatives, Kyoto University contributes to the harmonious coexistence of the global community as an institution that is broadly engaged with society and the world. It continues to advance numerous innovative and cutting-edge research initiatives, and has been home to many recipients of the world’s most prestigious awards, including the Nobel Prize, the Abel Prize, and the Fields Medal. We are fully committed to further expanding such initiatives at Kyoto University, generating new knowledge through original research conducted in an environment of academic freedom, and thereby contributing to the resolution of societal issues and fostering innovation. We will also spare no effort in cultivating globally-active researchers and highly skilled professionals, ensuring that Kyoto University remains an institution that contributes to the global community.
